Hey everybody, welcome back to this season. And today we are talking about five signs. Excuse me. Today we're talking about five signs your heart needs a spiritual reset. So I'm gonna start with number five and go up to the top one. So five reasons or five signs your heart needs a spiritual reset. All right.
Number five. You've been surviving your life instead of living it. And what that means is Monday you get up, go to work, fix your food, maybe work out, wind down, go to sleep. Repeat all over and over again, weekends.
Go to church on Sunday, but you never take time out for yourself or to find joy, laughter outside of scrolling on social media. So you are always surviving, just doing one thing after another.
More than likely, you're feeling overwhelmed, and you just need to pause and have a moment of joy. So, you know, in a couple of my episodes, I do joy breaks because I love to laugh and I love to just breathe. One other thing I started doing is taking a rest day a month, and a rest day is a day when I don't do any work.
For myself or anyone else. And then I also have a joy day where I do something fun and exciting. Usually, one of those fun and exciting things is going to the beach, taking a hike, or watching a funny movie uninterrupted. And so I always try to do those types of things for
Rhonda (02:10.826)
My downtime. So that was number five. Number four is you've stopped expecting anything good for you. I mean, have y'all ever been there? Many times we celebrate other people, and we're excited about the things that are going on in their lives, but when's the last time you've been excited and actually paused for yourself to celebrate the things that are going on in your life? If
You haven't done that in a while. More than likely, your heart needs a spiritual reset. And a spiritual reset is not necessarily a bad thing; it's recognizing that I need to pause and make some adjustments so that if I do face disappointment, or something that's not good for me, it doesn't take me out. Look, y'all.
We're planning to live life for a long time, and the days of stressing and being overwhelmed are over.
And what I'm being intentional about is not only living out this life of joy that I have had the privilege of doing and navigating through certain situations, but also helping other ladies and men do the same thing. And so if you haven't gotten my guide, Seeing Your Way Back to Joy, what are you waiting on? It is available at www.rondalive.com.
I want to also get into point number three. When little things are getting big reactions, you may need a heart reset, a heart reset.
Rhonda (03:56.277)
reset not just any reset but a spiritual reset for example every little thing is irritating you maybe it's a text maybe it's a request that typically you don't get bothered by but for whatever reason this time it is bothering you sometimes that irritability that you are experiencing or that we experience could be a sign that you're overwhelmed
That you're depleted, that you're carrying too much. And the heart check that you should ask yourself is am I carrying too much in this season? Do I need to stop and choose?
to give this to someone else? Do I need to stop? Because your health matters and your life matters. I was in a session the other day and someone asked the question, what do you do when someone says, I'm doing all the work and you know different people's like, that person needs to have the right spirit that person needs to
begin to you know pray it's not all about them and I had to lift my hands and say well maybe that person's just overwhelmed maybe that person has a cry for help and we need to be sensitive to that so don't be the person that gets overwhelmed and you don't realize you're overwhelmed.
Take time to ask your heart those questions. Am I overwhelmed? Am I doing too much? another heart check you could ask is what part of me have I neglected while I've been taking care of everything else? Many times we get into the cycle of just doing the things and we neglect our bodies, our health, begin to suffer.
Rhonda (06:05.466)
And many times you have to reset. That reset looks like giving up some things. People don't like to hear it, but it's true. It's true. All right, number two. Worship has become something you do instead of something or someplace that you meet God, meaning.
We go to church, we prepare the songs, we sing the songs, and then that's it. We do it because sometimes we're getting paid to do it or we have been voluntoled or we're volunteering. Either way, we get in this cycle, choose the songs, do it. But then there's no personal time spent, no intentional time spent, not for you necessarily to get the songs, but for your heart to be refreshed and for your heart to be restored. You know, you can
Know every lyric of the song. You can sing the best and out-sing anyone. You can sing the best and out-sing anyone, but then not know the person that you're singing about. Don't let that be your testimony. You know, take time to get to know him and allow him to work in your heart. So a heart check for this moment.
It could simply be: Am I spending time with God to get what I'm supposed to sing? Or am I spending time with the Lord because I'm choosing to? And I do want to pause and share that in the Setlist Cellar, we this month have been talking about walking in God's best. And it is
One of the most rewarding topics that I have been able to share. And if you're not a part of the Setless Cellar, you definitely want to be a part of that. I share specific Bible reading plans each month. And there's a great group of people.
Rhonda (08:17.55)
Who are waiting to meet you and to walk alongside of you as you find your purpose, as you rediscover joy, as you navigate life, knowing that you don't have to do it alone. And it's free. Anybody can be a part. Anybody can be a part. And then those of you who prefer a deeper approach.
more deeper coaching and transformation, you can be a part of the suite. And we meet twice a month, and I absolutely love it. Lives are being changed, and people are being transformed. So this last point, number one reason for sign that you need a spiritual heart reset.
is that you're still serving, but you're running on empty.
Rhonda (09:20.62)
A heart check is simple. When was the last time you were poured into versus pouring out? And if you're anything like me, you're very careful about where you're getting poured into because you can't trust everybody, and then sometimes people try to manipulate you, and some people have ulterior motives.
But if you're pouring out and not getting poured into, there is gonna be a time where you're going to just drop. You're gonna drop, and sometimes, as shared in my previous video, sometimes that manifests in your body physically or
You're snapping at people, or you're just kind of forgetting things. And I don't want you to be that way. I want you to be able to recognize the signs that your heart needs a spiritual reset before you drop. And one of the best things I did was establish community and safe spaces where I could get bored into and
Not only that, we can pour into each other. So meet us in the worship room. I don't think that you'll be disappointed. And if anything, you'll be better for it. So until next time, you all be well, and I can't wait to talk with you soon.
